This Ordinance introduces a sewage charging scheme as a complementary measure to reduce pollution. The Ordinance imposes sewage charges and trade effluent surcharges to be paid to the Government for the removal of wastewater or trade effluents through the use of communal drains or communal sewers. The Ordinance further provides for: liability for sewage charges and trade effluent surcharges; reduction of charges; power of the Drainage Authority to enter any premises; etc.
