This Act amends the Madhya Pradesh Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act, 1959. Amendments include: substitution of sub-section (1) of section 4 on the prohibition of slaughtering agricultural cattle; substitution of the words “agricultural cattle other than cow or calf of cow” with the words “cow, calf of cow, calf of she-buffalo, bull or bullock” in section 6, 6-A, 6-B, 7 and 9; substitution of section 6-C with a new section of special export permits; substitution of the heading of section 7 with a new heading reading “Prohibition of purchase, sale or any other manner of disposal of cow, calf of cow, calf of she-buffalo, bull or bullock”; and omission of the words “religious” from section 17.
