This Instruction establishes the modalities of projecting, operating and recultivation of landfill for solid domestic waste with the consideration of environmental protection. It shall be used as guideline by housing and utilities infrastructure personnel, scientific, educational, projecting, environmental protection institutions and organizations of sanitary and epidemiological supervision. Projecting of landfills shall include the following documentation: (a) general explanatory note; (b) hydrological note containing substantiation of selection of landfill site; (c) landfill operational data; (d) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA); and (e) sanitary protection zone and monitoring system. Reclamation of landfills shall include waste recycling arrangements.
