This Regulation prescribes quality requirements that the production and placing on the market must comply with when treating cheeses and cheese products, which are related to: a) terms, definitions and general requirements that must be met; b) composition of added ingredients and other substances used in production and processing; c) additional labelling requirements. Due to the water content of fat-free substances in cheese, and the consistency and structure, cheese are produced and marketed under specific names: a) extra-hard cheese; b) hard cheese; c) semi-hard cheese; d) soft cheese; e) cheese. The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
