This Law, in order to protect life and health, provides measures and requirements for combat drug abuse, governing: a) the conditions for the cultivation of plants from which is possible to obtain a narcotic drug, and the conditions for the production, possession and trafficking of narcotic drugs and substances that can be used to manufacture illicit drugs; b) the control over the cultivation of plants from which is possible to obtain narcotic drugs and the production, possession and trade of narcotic drugs and substances that can be used to manufacture illicit drugs; c) the measures to combat drug abuse; d) the system for the prevention of addiction and help addicts and sporadic drug consumers. This Law also provides requirements for the transportation and storage of drugs and plants from which is possible to obtain drugs, monitoring and control of permits and legal or physical persons authorized for the cultivation. The plant from which it is possible to obtain drugs can be grown only under conditions and in the manner prescribed by this Law. The Law is divided into XI Chapters and 68 articles.
