This Decree composed of 10 articles, creates the "Arco Verde" Programme for the Legal Amazon forests control and protection (as mentioned by art. 3A of Decree of 3 July 2003). This Programme aims at the promotion of sustainable productive models within the municipalities considered as priority, in order to control and reduce the deforestation in the Legal Amazon. This Programme will be implemented by Federal Government organs, entitled to execute actions aimed to the maintenance of the environmental quality standards, land regulation, technical assistance and rural extension, research on agriculture, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture.
