These Regulations implement the Pearling Act 1990 and provide the framework for the management of administrative and technical matters for pearl oyster fishery. The Regulations provide for: the ways forms should be used for the purposes of the Act; designated containers and tags for holding pearl oysters; dumping of pearl oysters; the holding of pearl oysters on pearl oyster farms; pearl seeding operations; transportation of pearl oysters; requirements for hatcheries; spat collection; quarantine sites; nursery sites; growing out spat and seeding grown out pearl oysters; etc.
