This Decree provides for control of microfinance institutions by the reserve bank of Fiji. The Reserve Bank may conduct examinations of microfinance institutions, and in particular shall examine: the governance structure, the credit policy and accounting process, loan portfolios and client files. The Reserve bank shall present its findings to the Cabinet. Microfinance institutions shall be required to collaborate with the Reserve Bank in its examinations.
