This Ministerial Decree establishes that State veterinary inspection under the Government of Agriculture shall be the authorized state institution in the sphere of veterinary entitled with the task of ensuring epizootic well-being in the sphere of livestock breeding and safety of foodstuffs of animal origin, and also prevention of fraud against and misleading of the consumers of animal products and foodstuffs of animal origin. State veterinary inspection shall carry out the following functions: (a) state veterinary inspection and supervision; (b) prevention of introduction of pests and infectious animal diseases to the national territory; (c) organization of quarantine; (d) enforcement of veterinary rules and regulations; and (e) issuance of accompanying veterinary documents for import, export and transit of cargo subject to veterinary inspection.
