This Regional Decree, consisting of 8 articles and 1 Annex, creates and specifies the geographical coordinates of the Underwater Archaeological Park of Caroline on the island of Pico. This underwater protected area is delimited with the coordinates 38 31, 887 'North Latitude and 28 32, 420' West Longitude (DDM system - decimal degrees) WGS 84, off the west coast of Pico island, to the west of Fábrica de Conservas da Madalena, between the coastline and the ilhéu baixo do canal. The Archaeological Park of Caroline aims at fulfilling the objectives set out in article 36 of the Regional Legislative Decree No. 27/2004/A of 24 August. It specifies authorized and unauthorized activities to be performed within the above mentioned underwater protected area.
