The purpose of these Measures is for rational development, utilization and protection of climate resources, and promotion of sustainable economic and social development. The Measures consist of 26 articles. Provincial meteorological authorities shall, based on comprehensive climatic resource survey results, make evaluation of climatic resources, and prepare zoning of climatic resources. Encourage the research on climate resources and the development and application of solar energy, wind energy and other renewable energy. Climatic feasibility studies shall be carried out for the planning and construction projects as listed in the Article 20 closely related to climatic conditions.
