This Regulation (if there will be no other specific rules for sampling and preparation of test samples) adopts the methods relevant to the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the guidelines of the Codex Alimentarius. Samples for bacteriological testing at slaughterhouses and establishments producing minced meat, meat preparations, mechanically separated meat and fresh meat, sampling rules for carcases of cattle, pigs, sheep, goats and horses, destructive and non-destructive sampling methods, the selection of the sampling sites and the rules for storage and transport of samples are described in standard ISO 17604.
