This Chapter of Division 3 of the Water Code of California gives definitions for purposes of the Divisions (Dams and Reservoirs) and defines the purpose of Part 1 of Division 3. It is the purpose to provide for the regulation and supervision of dams and reservoirs exclusively by the State. Chapter 2 also provides for the supervision of dam safety by civil engineers.
