This Measure of the Commission of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) concerns data collection and reporting on fishing activities by Members and Cooperating non-Contracting Parties (Members and CNCPs) and verification of such data by them. Members and CNCPs must develop, implement and improve systems for the collection of data on fishing activities from vessels as specified in the Annexes to this CMM. Members and CNCPs shall also develop, implement and improve observer programmes to attain specified objectives and implement a Vessel Monitoring System (VMS). In addition, Members and CNCPs: are to ensure that fishery data are verified through an appropriate system; shall develop, implement and improve mechanisms for verifying data; and must report all data required by this measure to the Secretariat in accordance with the specifications and format described in Annex 8. Data also concerns vessel landing and transhipment reports and port sampling.
