This Measure of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), adopted in accordance with Article IX of the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources, regulates the application of conservation measures to scientific research. It also requires Members planning to use any type of vessel or vessels to conduct fishing for research purposes when the estimated seasonal research catch is as specified to undertake certain action in respect of Research Plans. Other requirements for research activities concern observers on board, reporting on activities and the automated satellite-linked vessel monitoring system.
