This Ordinance aims to provide for the regulation of the practice of veterinary surgery, the registration of veterinary surgeons, the disciplinary control of the professional activities of registered veterinary surgeons. The Text consists of 8 Parts: Preliminary (I); Veterinary Surgeons Board(II); Register and Certificates (III); Disciplinary Proceedings(IV); Appeals(V); Use of Title (VI); Offences and Evidence(VII); Miscellaneous (VIII). There shall be a Veterinary Surgeons Board. Part 2 provides for the duties of the Board, including: (a) establish and maintain a register of registered veterinary surgeons; (b) set and review the qualification standards for registration; (c) deal with disciplinary offences; etc. The Board may appoint a registration committee to consider the qualifications of applicants. It is prohibited to practise when not registered or not in possession of a valid practising certificate.
