This Regulation prescribes the specific requirements as regards the control over the presence of Trichinella in meat (any nematode belonging to the species of genus Trichinella). These provisions apply to test methods used for the verification of the effective presence of Trichinella in meat; to the treatment of the Food Agency and veterinary and food operators, engaged in granting and/or revoking of the health status certification; veterinary-sanitary conditions for import of meat, including the conducting official controls and monitoring over the presence of trichinosis in general. This Regulation further harmonizes the national legislation with the provisions contained in the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1375 of 10 August 2015 laying down specific rules on official controls for Trichinella in meat.
