Legislative Decree No. 164 of 2000 concerning implementation of directive No. 98/30/EC on internal natural gas market common rules, pursuant to article 41 of Law No. 144 of 1999.

The Legislative Decree concerns provisions regulating the internal market of natural gas. It is organised in X titles and 39 Articles, and rules entail gas procurement, transport and distribution, storage, sale. Furthermore, it regulates market competition rules, procedures for companies to participate to the natural gas market and conditions of reciprocity for Italian gas companies to undersign supply contracts with certified suitable costumers from other EU countries.
