This Memorandum of Understanding between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Secretariat (the "ASEC") and the Mekong River Commission Secretariat (the "MRCS") is about the sustainable development of the Mekong Basin. The Parties agree to develop a partnership by implementing various measures of collaboration, in particular in the field of water resources management, but also disaster management, biodiversity and environment protection. Various programmatic actions are proposed. The MoU also sets out principles of cooperation and mechanisms of cooperation.
