The Guidelines to the Sectoral Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Materials from Forests and Grassland are formulated by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration to promote the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine materials produced from forests and grassland. The Guidelines specify that the key tasks shall be: Strengthen resource protection, strictly protect wild medicinal biological resources, and protect germplasm resources and the ecological environment of medicine producing areas according to the types and distribution of resources; Build ecological cultivation bases according to the regional geographical environment, vegetation types, climate, soil conditions and habitat characteristics, select excellent varieties; Build the primary processing and storage logistics bases in the producing areas; Introduce social capital into the areas of mountains and forests; etc.
