The Policy prescribes strategic priority areas and actions to guide the implementation and address youth challenges. The text further articulates the need for harmonizing definitions of the youth, related legislation and programmes carried out across the region. The Policy vision is an integrated East African Community where its youth are empowered to fully participate and benefit in all facets of the region’s development. The Policy mission is to create an enabling environment for effective youth participation and empowerment in developing and sustaining the East African Community.
