The Child Welfare and Protection Action Plan for 2012-2015 is a national cross-sectoral action plan of Georgia. Its main objective is to protect every child from violence and neglect, and that every child has individual and positive psychosocial development opportunities in a family or in a family-type environment. Among others, the Action provides for increasing the number of children receiving the state insurance coverage; better integration of child’s needs in family needs assessments; supporting children on the verge of poverty; prevention of abandonment of babies; providing educational opportunities; supporting children with disabilities; and ensuring the quality of services for the children under the state care.
