The measure applies on the 2022/23 season, and provides that fishing for Dissostichus mawsoni in Statistical Subarea 88.2 will be limited to the exploratory longline fishery conducted by specific countries, with specified catch limits for different research units and areas, and defined seasonal periods for different SSRUs. The measure sets out for regulations on by-catch, observer presence, vessel monitoring, tagging protocols, and research activities. Additionally, vessels catching three or more seabirds must switch to night setting, and participate in data collection schemes and reporting systems to ensure implication of sustainable fishing practices. The text further provides for data catch/effort based on Conservation Measure 23-07 and 23-04 and data biological based on Conservation Measure 23-05.
