This National Rural Industry Development Plan (2020-2025) is a sectoral policy document. Development goals are set up as: By 2025, the rural industrial system will be sound and complete, the quality and efficiency of rural industries will be significantly improved, the rural employment structure will be further optimized, the level of industrial integration and development will be significantly improved, the channels for increasing farmers' income will continue to expand, and the endogenous driving force for rural industrial development will continue to strengthen. In order to achieve the goals, main tasks are proposed in the Plan, including: Enhance the agricultural product processing industry; Expand rural characteristic industries; Optimize rural leisure tourism industry; Developing new rural service industries; Promote the integration and development of agricultural industrialization and rural industries; Promote rural innovation and entrepreneurship. In terms of expanding the initial processing of agricultural products, the Plan proposes to encourage and support farmer cooperatives, family farms, and small and medium-sized enterprises to develop initial processing of agricultural products in production areas, reduce postpartum losses, extend supply time, and improve quality and efficiency. For enhancing the deep processing of agricultural products, The Plan proposes to guide large agricultural enterprises to accelerate the integration and application of biotechnology, engineering, environmental protection, information and other technologies to promote multiple processing and value-added of agricultural products.
