The New and Renewable Energy Development Strategy (EDENR) guides the development and implementation plans of projects for the use and conversion of renewable energy sources, drawn up with the aim of meeting national energy needs, sustaining socio-economic development and support poverty alleviation programmes. EDENR covers systems for the direct use of renewable sources, in domestic, agricultural, commercial, industrial or public installations, and systems for converting renewable sources into electricity for domestic, agricultural, commercial, industrial or public consumption purposes. This Strategy does not cover energy sources used in public or private transport, land, sea or air. EDENR is structured into two main areas of action: the Off-Grid Strategy (EDENR-FR) and the In-Network Strategy (EDENR-ER). These two aspects have different characteristics and requirements, despite applying to the same renewable sources, namely hydro energy, solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, ocean energy, and cogeneration with organic waste.
