This Recommendation provides that total catches of Norwegian Spring-Spawning (Atlanto-Scandian) herring in 2024 do not exceed 390,010 tonnes, with each contracting party required to establish conservation measures including catch limits. Only vessels authorized by their flag state and entitled to fly the flag of a NEAFC contracting party may participate in the fishery, with each party obligated to notify their implemented measures to the Secretary by March 1, 2024, without prejudice to future conservation actions in the North-East Atlantic.
