This recommendation is adapted under Article 5 of the Convention, calling on each Contracting Party to prohibit vessels flying its flag from engaging in directed fishing for deep-sea chimaeras within the Regulatory Area. Furthermore, Contracting Parties are urged to provide all available data on deep-sea chimaeras to ICES for assessment of stock status.
