This Act is prescribed in order to promote substantive gender equality, eliminate gender discrimination, uphold human dignity, and improve and establish the education resources and environment for gender equality. The Act is divided into 7 Chapters dealing with: general matters; learning environment and resources; curriculum, teaching materials and instruction; prevention and handling of gender-related incidents on campus; application for investigation and remedy; legal liabilities; and supplementary provisions. Gender equity education mentioned in the Act means generating respect for gender diversity, eliminating gender discrimination and promoting substantive gender equality through education.
