Bremen Ship Waste Disposal Act (BremSAEG).

The Act aims to reduce the discharge of ship-generated waste and cargo residues at sea, especially illegal discharge by ships, by enhancing the provision and utilization of port reception facilities. The law establishes obligations for ships flying the flag of an EU Member State regarding waste disposal, defines various terms including ships as seagoing watercraft of any kind used in sea transport, and mandates waste management plans covering procedures for collection, storage, treatment, and disposal of waste, as well as assessing the need for port reception facilities, describing their type and capacity, and outlining procedures for reporting deficiencies and ongoing stakeholder consultations.
