This Regional Legislative Decree creates the Incentive System for the Regional Development of the Azores, called SIDER. SIDER aims to promote the sustainable development of the regional economy through a set of measures aimed at strengthening the productivity and competitiveness of companies. SIDER is made up of the following subsystems: a) Local Development Support Subsystem; b) Subsystem to Support Tourism Development; c) Strategic Development Support Subsystem; d) Quality and Innovation Development Support Subsystem. SIDER does not cover investment projects related to the primary production of agricultural products listed in Annex I to the Treaty establishing the European Community.
