The Regional Technical Guidelines for Early Warning System for Aquatic Animal Health Emergencies were created to guide national regulators and stakeholders in responding to and managing the outbreaks of known, unknown, existing, emerging or re-emerging aquatic animal diseases. These guidelines aim to improve national emergency preparedness, allowing for more efficient responses to serious outbreaks of aquatic animal diseases. The set of guidelines is based on the analysis of the FAO Emergency Preparedness and Response Systems audit for aquatic animal diseases completed by the ASEAN Member States. Appendix 3 indicates the flow diagram which summarizes the different actions to be undertaken during any disease emergencies.
