Monitoring of the radiation situation shall be intended a system of long-term regular observations to assess the radiation situation, as well as forecast of its changes in the future. The purposes of this Agreement are: (a) organization of interaction between authorized (competent) bodies of the Parties on the exchange of radiation monitoring data on the territories of the states of the Parties to this Agreement; (b) providing and receiving data and information on the status of radiation situation and its changes in the territories of states-participants of this Agreement; (c) exchange of radiation monitoring data in the event of a risk or the occurrence of transboundary transfer of radioactive substances to the territory of the states that are Parties to this Agreement, including from the territories of third countries. This Agreement applies to data received by state (national) monitoring systems of radiation situation. This Agreement does not apply to data monitoring of the radiation situation coming from industrial sites of nuclear energy facilities.
