The Green Deal Industrial Plan aims to simplify, accelerate and align incentives to preserve the competitiveness and attractiveness of the EU as an investment location for the net-zero industry. The Plan is based on four pillars: (i) a predictable and simplified regulatory environment; (ii) faster access to sufficient funding; (iii) skills - green and digital, at all levels and for all people, with inclusiveness of women and youth; and (iv) open trade for resilient supply chains. A Net-Zero Industry Act will be developed to underpin industrial manufacturing of key technologies in the EU. This would also provide a simplified regulatory framework for production capacity of products that are key to meet our climate neutrality goals, such as batteries. In order to further stimulate the demand for net-zero products at large scale, various forms of public action will be undertaken, such as public procurement, concessions and incentives to business and end users to use net-zero technologies based on sustainability and circularity. The InvestEU program focuses on several strategic priorities to support sustainable investment, innovation, and job creation in Europe, particularly in response to crises and transitions. The main areas are: (I) sustainable infrastructure through investments in transport, energy, digital connectivity, the circular economy, and innovative technologies; (II) research, innovation, and the digital transition; (III) financial support to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises; and (IV) social inclusion, education, and skills development. These priorities aim to address market failures, support the EU's strategic goals, and ensure a sustainable and inclusive economic recovery. The InvestEU aligns with the EU Green Deal by promoting investments that contribute to climate neutrality and environmental sustainability. The program prioritizes projects that address climate change, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable transport which are crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy. The program supports initiatives that promote the circular economy, reducing waste and encouraging the reuse and recycling of materials, and foster sustainable production and consumption patterns. The InvestEU aims to create a more resource-efficient and sustainable economic model by investing in green technologies and infrastructure.
