The Bee Breeding Program in the Republika Srpska for the period 2025-2027 is a set of selection and zootechnical procedures, as well as other methods aimed at improving bee breeding in the Republika Srpska. It is of great importance for beekeepers, beekeeper associations, the Federation of Beekeepers' Associations of the Republika Srpska, and for all experts in the field of beekeeping. This program determines measures that entail the preservation, development and improvement of the genetic basis of bees in the Republika Srpska using breeding methods and procedures that will improve the breeding of young productive queens with improved breeding characteristics. The goal of this program is the breeding of bees in accordance with the standards of the gray bee breed (Apis meliffe carnica). This program determines the bee populations on which it is implemented, the breeding goal, selection methods and participants in the implementation of the breeding program, and is in accordance with legal regulations that apply equally to all participants in the implementation of this program. The program is adopted for a period of three years.
