Regulations Related to Recycled Water.

These Regulations of the State Water Board concern use of recycled water for drinking water purposes and the environment in California. They concern, among other things, Groundwater Replenishment Reuse Projects (GRRPs). A water supplier shall protect the public water supply from contamination by implementation of a cross-connection control program. The program, or any portion thereof, may be implemented directly by the water supplier or by means of a contract with the local health agency, or with another agency approved by the health agency. The Regulations are also about backflow requirements and specify reuse criteria. A section is dedicated to recycled water use for irrigation. The California Regional Water Quality Control Board(s) that have jurisdiction over the recycling plant and use areas are regulatory agencies.
