Conservation Measure 41-06 (2024) prohibits directed fishing for Dissostichus eleginoides (toothfish) on Elan Bank (Statistical Division 58.4.3a) outside national jurisdictions in 2024/25, allowing only exploratory longline fishing with a precautionary catch limit of zero tonnes. The season runs from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025 or until the catch limit is reached, with by-catch regulated under CM 33-03, seabird bycatch mitigation under CM 25-02, and a requirement to switch to night setting after three seabird captures. Vessels must carry at least one scientific observer, follow detailed catch, effort, and biological data reporting, and conduct research and tagging at a minimum of five fish per tonne caught. Environmental protections under CMs 26-01, 22-06, 22-07, and 22-08 apply.
