Decree No. 4.470 regulating procedures for forest replacement and for the generation and granting of forest replacement credits in the State of Pará.

This Decree regulates procedures for forest replacement and for the generation and granting of forest replacement credits within the State of Pará. In particular, it establishes that individuals or legal entities that use forest raw materials are required to obtain forest resources from: forest management, carried out through a previously approved Sustainable Forest Management Plan (PMFS); duly authorized removal of natural vegetation; planted forests; extraction of other sources of forest biomass, such as bark from forest species, including native palms, or residues from industrial wood processing, in compliance with specific regulations; or auction or donation, carried out with the consent of the state environmental agency. Removal of native vegetation for alternative land use, whether in the public or private domain, will require the property to be registered in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and prior authorization from the state environmental agency.
