Recommendation by ICCAT (14-14 MISC) Amending Recommendation 11-26 on the Establishment of a Meeting Participation Fund for Developing ICCAT Contracting Parties.

This recommendation provides that ICCAT will establish a Meeting Participation Fund (MPF) to help representatives from developing Contracting Parties attend and contribute to its meetings. The fund will start with €60,000 from ICCAT’s Working Capital Fund and be replenished through voluntary contributions. It will support one participant per Party for non-scientific meetings (two for Standing Working Group to Enhance Dialogue between Fisheries Scientists and Managers) and selected scientists for scientific meetings, with applications requiring approval from relevant Chairs and the Executive Secretary. The ICCAT Secretariat will manage the fund, provide annual updates on its status, and applicants are encouraged to seek other funding sources before applying.
