Recommendation by ICCAT to replace recommendation 06-14 to promote compliance by nationals of contracting parties, cooperating non-contracting parties, entities, or fishing entities with ICCAT conservation and management measures (22-14 GEN).

The measure provides that the Contracting Parties, Cooperating non-Contracting Parties, Entities or Fishing Entities (CPCs) must, while respecting flag State responsibility, investigate and verify allegations that individuals or entities under their jurisdiction are involved in or supporting IUU fishing activities, including operators, owners, logistics, and financial service providers. They are required to take effective and deterrent actions against verified violations and cooperate with relevant agencies and stakeholders to enforce ICCAT conservation and management measures. Additionally, CPCs must submit timely reports, in line with their confidentiality and privacy laws, to the ICCAT Secretariat and other CPCs on the actions and measures they have taken.
