Act No. 7 on equality between women and men.

This Act promotes gender equality in both private and public life, ensuring equal influence and opportunities while preventing direct and indirect discrimination based on sex. It obliges private companies and public authorities with more than 10 employees to report annually on gender distribution and equality measures. Public boards, committees, and similar bodies should aim for gender balance, and employers guarantee equal treatment in hiring, promotion, dismissal, education, and training, as well as equal pay for equal work. The law prohibits gender-based job advertising and dismissal due to pregnancy or parental leave, allows compensation for violations, and places the burden of proof on employers to demonstrate compliance. It invalidates discriminatory agreements and introduces fines for breaches.
