This Code lays down general principles for sharing agricultural data from farm to farm products within the agro-food chain by the signatories of contractual agreement. It predominantly focuses on data related to agricultural production, including farm data and all types of data generated within the farming processes as referred in the annex. The data originator may grant their explicit, express and informed permission via contractual arrangement for the access, storage, usage and sharing of the collected agricultural data. This Code addresses the attribution of the underlying rights to derive data; data access, control and portability; data protection and transparency; privacy and security; and liability and intellectual property rights.
