The ICCAT has amended paragraphs 6–9 of Recommendation 21-04 for North Atlantic albacore management for 2024–2026. A constant annual Total Allowable Catch (TAC) of 47,251 tonnes is established, with specific allocations for the European Union, Chinese Taipei, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela, including provisions for transfers such as 200 tonnes from Chinese Taipei to Belize. Contracting Party and Cooperating non‐Contracting Party, Entity, or Fishing Entity (CPCs) not listed in the allocation are limited to 302 tonnes annually, while Japan is requested to keep its North Atlantic albacore catch under 4.5% of its total Atlantic bigeye tuna longline catch. Any unused or excess quota may be carried over or deducted in subsequent years, subject to a 25% maximum underage limit. If total CPCs landings exceed the TAC by more than 20% in any year, the Commission will review the Recommendation, considering Standing Committee on Research and Statistics (SCRS) advice and exceptional circumstances, and may implement additional measures.
