This Regulation implements specific parts of the Greenlandic Act on Old-Age Pensions by regulating the conditions for exceptional financial supplements and institutional cost rules. It allows municipalities to grant temporary economic supplements to pensioners facing acute financial hardship, particularly for essential housing and utility expenses, and specifies that such aid may be subject to repayment depending on the decision. It also defines the calculation of “disposal income” for determining needs-based supplements and sets payment obligations for pensioners with income residing in public care institutions — capped at 60% of income beyond the pension. Income received from public employment or activities in such institutions must be deducted from the pension, but the pensioner must retain at least 46% of the basic pension. Decisions under this order may be appealed.
