This Law provides for abolishing the State Committee and Local Government Committee on Fund for Mineral Producing Areas, and for replacing it with the establishment of the Delta State Task Force on Fund for Mineral Producing Areas. The Law thus concerns the following matters: incorporation of the Task Force; specification of mineral producing areas; composition and tenure of the Task Force; functions and powers of the Task Force: utilising the fund allocated to the oil producing local government area of the State in accordance with the Presidential guidelines; collating and processing for approval all the identified projects from mineral producing communities submitted by the local governments; awarding contracts subject to presidential approval. Further matters covered by this Law include: procedure for identification, selection of development project, contract awards and payment; meeting of the Task Force; financial provisions.
