Act No. 82 on dogs.

This Act sets out rules for the ownership and control of dogs, requiring owners to ensure their dogs are tagged with the owner’s name and address from four months of age, kept under proper supervision, and not allowed to roam freely. It regulates when dogs must be leashed, imposes conditions for keeping dogs in uninhabited places, and allows authorities to seize, rehome, or euthanize stray or dangerous dogs. The Act also sets standards for tethering, mandates liability insurance for dog owners, and outlines procedures for compensation claims when a dog causes damage. Running dog-related businesses requires a police permit, and breaches of the Act can lead to fines and, in some cases, the requirement to euthanize the dog.
