This notification amends the Environmental Impact Assessment Notification, 2006 (principal Notification). In the principal Notification, in Appendix IX pertaining to exemption of certain cases from requirement of environmental clearance, the entries at serial nos. 6 and 7 are substituted. Serial no. 6 exempts extraction or sourcing of ordinary earth for the linear projects such as roads, pipelines, etc. but shall be subject to the compliance of standard operating procedures and environmental safeguards issued in this regard from time to time. Serial no. 7 exempts dredging and de-silting of dams, reservoirs, weirs, barrages, river and canals for the purpose of their maintenance, upkeep and disaster management, but is made subject to the compliance of environmental safeguards issued in this regard from time to time.
