Law No. 14.635 creating the Bahia Without Hunger Programme and the Integrated Equipment Network for Combating Hunger.

This Law creates the Bahia Without Hunger Programme, with the purpose of guaranteeing people in situations of social vulnerability access to food in the quality and quantity necessary to guarantee the human right to adequate and healthy food, as well as promoting food and nutritional security. It aims to ensure the realisation of the human right to food and the promotion of food and nutritional security. Its central objectives include strengthening the State Food and Nutritional Security System, fostering cooperation with municipalities and the federal government, and structuring policies that support the production, distribution, and regulation of healthy foods. The programme also seeks to reinforce the role of the Integrated Equipment Network for Combating Hunger as a key mechanism for providing quality food access to vulnerable populations, while encouraging the participation of civil society in food acquisition, preparation, and distribution. In addition, the programme focuses on promoting socioeconomic inclusion, productive inclusion, and income initiatives for families experiencing food insecurity. Its objectives extend to supporting family farming, agroecology, and community‑based food production systems, as well as implementing educational strategies related to nutrition, environmental awareness, and healthy eating habits.
