This Complementary Law provides for minir amendments Complementary Law No. 38 of 21 November 1995 on the State Environmental Code. In particular, amendments deal with protection, conservation, and sustainable use of wetlands in the State which will be regulated by CONSEMA, observing the provisions of federal legislation, including procedures for environmental licensing of potentially polluting or degrading activities, vegetation suppression, and specific licensing of drainage works. In addition, it adds article 65-A aimed at applying Article 10 of Federal Law No. 12.651 of 25 May 2012, spcifying that wetlands will be considered restricted use areas.
