This recommendation establishes conservation measures for Orange roughy (Hoplostethus atlanticus) in the NEAFC Regulatory Area for 2025–2028, based on scientific advice indicating very low stock levels and recommending zero catches. It requires all Contracting Parties to prohibit directed fishing for this species during that period. Additional measures include minimizing by-catch and submitting all relevant data to ICES for stock assessment. The rules remain in force until the end of 2028 and encourage similar protections within national waters.
