This Law seeks to regulate and recognize the activity of artisanal açaí processors (batedores artesanais) in the State of Pará by defining their legal characterization and establishing clear standards for the freezing, storage, and commercialization of açaí pulp. Its main objectives are to ensure the quality and sanitary safety of açaí intended for human consumption; enable the continuity of supply during the off‑season through the creation of regulated frozen stock; promote food security and economic stability in the sector; and facilitate the inclusion of artisanal processors into formal market chains, while maintaining the traditional, non‑industrial nature of production under appropriate sanitary supervision and regulatory oversight.
